ATF EVENTS: AT THE INTERNATIONAL WOMEN OF POWER BUSINESS SHOW: EMPOWERING WOMEN THROUGH NETWORKING.

Show Organiser & LvLv Events CEO Vanessa Oluwole

After years of running a successful UK based events company, Vanessa Oluwole CEO at LvLv Events Ltd decided it was time to do something to give back to the community she had gained a lot from and hopefully serve as an inspiration to others. She set up International Women Of Power, an organisation that seeks to create an atmosphere for excellence for every woman in business or any woman seeking to embark on a business venture. On the 23rd February 2013, it held its very first business show at The Central Hall, Westminster Abbey London, drawing women from different cultural and business backgrounds together to share ideas and network in a friendly, fun and inspiring atmosphere. The show itself turned out to be a huge success; 9 speakers in total took turns to speak on different business issues ranging from networking to marketing to ideas necessary to run a successful online business to sales strategies and lots more! More importantly, the show provided an avenue for women to meet and talk one to one, and created a platform for what is undoubtedly one of the most important tools for business: networking.

The next edition of the event which promises to be bigger and better is scheduled to hold on Saturday 22nd February 2014. Will keep you posted on the venue and times as the date approaches. To book your exhibition stall at the event go to www.iwomenofpower.com or call 07534921310.

Speaker Usha Oliver: Confidence Coach-
Four nuggets for success: Creativity, Courage, Clarity and Character.
No 1 reason people give up so fast is because they tend to look at how far they
have to go instead of how far they have come.

Speaker Kate Anolue: Mayor of Enfield-
Believe in yourself. Trust in yourself. Be determined, do away with negativity.
Have good, reliable friends that share your dream. Wherever you walk, leave a good mark.
Give back to your community. You are capable, you don't have to depend on anyone.

Speaker Leigh Ashton-Sales Consultant-
You need to be able to sell yourself, your product and your ideas to be a woman of power. Have confidence in your ideas, be psychological; change the way you think! Invest in yourself to develop yourself, continually strive to learn more. Look out for workshops, buy books, always invest in your learning; the more you learn, the more you earn. Think: 'What action can I take to get me closer to my goal? DO IT! Everything you want is outside of your comfort zone so you have to be bold and brave and take that first step. List 3 actions that you want to do and set a date to do them by.
The only person that can stop you being powerful is you.

Speaker Sharon Canton: IT Consultant, TechSpaceOne

5 Deadly Marketing Mistakes
  • You do not have a proven map or blueprint
  • You are using the wrong people
  • You do not have a funnel to link marketing to sales
  • You are wasting time, money, energy and resources trying to do everything on your own. Delegate!
  • You are investing in the right things but in the wrong order.

Speaker Sonia Brown MBE Founder National Black Womens Network (NBWN)
6 Points:
  • Don't do perfection. You are ok as you are. Accept who you are and be comfortable in your own skin.
  • Don't waste time trying to fit in.
  • Be committed to your dream. Have focus. Don't just coast through your dream, go that extra mile. Stop surrounding yourself with emotional vampires, be disciplined, make a committment to do more, have more, achieve more. The 5 people you speak to the most, do they empower you or drain the energy out of you?
  • You are your biggest obstacle to yourself.
  • Be iconic, do not be mediocre. Too many people think its too hard to do more than they are already doing.
  • Use your gifts and talents in a positive way.
