Autopsy reports into the death of the singer were released on Monday 19th February and apparently she suffered from hypertension. Her record label, Kennis music released a statement detailing the cause of death and from my findings, it is a treatable condition although if untreated could be fatal:
"Reports following the autopsy carried out after her sudden death at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja, Lagos revealed that the Kennis Music star, suffered a terminal ‘hypertensive heart disease’ which resulted to’ intracerebellar haemorrhage.’ The autopsy carried out February 19, was signed by Dr. O.O Oyewole of the Department of Pathology and Forensic Medicine. The burial arrangement for the former Big Brother Africa house mate will be announced by the family."
What is an intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH)?
Tiny arteries bring blood to areas
deep inside the brain.
High blood pressure (hypertension) can cause
these thin-walled arteries to rupture, releasing
blood into the brain tissue. The blood collects
and forms a clot, called a hematoma, which grows
and causes pressure on surrounding brain tissue. Increased intracranial pressure (ICP)
makes a person confused and lethargic. As blood
spills into the brain, the area that artery
supplied is now deprived of oxygen-rich blood
– called a stroke.As blood cells within the clot die, toxins are
released that further damage brain cells in
the area surrounding the hematoma causing instant death.
P.S: Did the report misspell the cause of death? I see "intracerebellar haemorrhage" but apparently it should be "intracerebral".
So sad that she died in this manner, please people look after your health, this could have been spotted and treated before escatalating into a fatality. May God be with us all, Amen.
