Meet Stunning English Actress Gugu Mbatha Raw

If you are yet to hear about this beautiful actress, well take note now as the 31 year old is set to take the movie world by storm. Born Gugulethu Sophia Mbatha in Oxford, United Kingdom in 1983 to an English nurse and a South African doctor, Gugulethu (which means our pride) or Gugu grew up in the small town of Witney and attended The Henry Box School before moving to London to train at the Royal Academy of Arts.

She then went on to play minor roles on TV in shows such as Doctor Who, Bad Girls and Marple and played the lead role in the Fox pilot Touch starring opposite Kiefer Sutherland.

This year she stars in Amma Asante's Belle, playing Dido Elizabeth Belle, an 18th century English mixed race aristocrat.

The movie has garnered international attention with Oprah Winfrey reported to be so thrilled with the movie that she invited the cast over to her house for lunch and then endorsed Mbatha Raw as a 'rising star.'

OPRAH IS A HOT MAMA ON THE COVER OF O! MAGAZINE

 

Mama O is doing it BIG with hair on the cover of O! Magazine. The 59 year old graced the cover of September's issue of her own magazine looking toned and sporting a seriously gigantic 'fro. I love! I have always been big on hair so if I am wearing a weave, it has got to be extra big so naturally I am all for Ms Winfrey's humongous afro. Could that possibly be all her hair? Definitely not! The media mogul's website confirms her hair is all faux and "was transported in Bubble Wrap and a custom-made, bright pink travel box with a built-in stand to keep it upright." It also reportedly weighed 3.5lbs!

Meanwhile, OWN shows are airing on UK stations on TLC every Wednesday and Sunday nights. The shows include Masterclass, Oprah's Next Chapter and Super Soul Sunday. TLC is on Sky channel 125 and Virgin 167.
